New to The Fireplace?

What to expect at our Sunday worship celebration?

Every Sunday, our Worship Celebration begins at 9:15 AM with breakfast and fellowship. Breakfast is followed by corporate and various prayer items at 9:45 AM.  After prayer, we often have a time of worship and singing, which concludes at approximately 11:45 AM. Our worship style is contemporary with drums and guitars, but our focus is always the same – Jesus.

During our worship, we encourage people to worship biblically, expressed in various ways, but most of all “in spirit and in truth”. That means we want you to come and worship from your heart, giving honor and praise to the One Jesus. According to I Corinthians 12:7-11 and 14:12, we believe also that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still in operation today in Christ’s church, and we encourage the release of these gifts in such a way that builds up the body of believers. We ask that if you sense the Lord desires to use you publicly in a spiritual gift during our Worship Celebration, please speak to someone on our leadership team.

Most importantly, the Word of God is central to our time together, in which you will hear relevant messages directly from Scripture that will help you grow in your faith and walk in a new and abundant life through Jesus Christ.

What should I wear?

At The Fireplace, our focus is on worshiping Jesus, not on what you wear. Most people dress casually. It doesn’t matter to us and it doesn’t matter to God – He looks on the heart! We like to tell people, “Come as you are, and leave more like Jesus!”

Do you expect me to give to the offering?

We don’t believe anyone at The Fireplace should feel coerced or manipulated in any way to give, because Scripture tells us, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). According to Malachi 3:10, we will invite people to give their tithes and offerings to the Lord as an act of their worship. However, guests should not feel any expectation to contribute to the ministries and mission of our church, unless they feel led to do so.

What ministries do you offer children?

During Sunday Worship Celebration, we provide children’s ministry for all ages. The nursery, for infants – age 2, is unstaffed when the children are dismissed (however, mothers are welcome to take their infants there before that if needed). Toddlers (ages 2 and 3 years old), preschool (ages 4 yrs old to kindergarten) meet together in a single class. This group and elementary group (first through fifth grades) will be dismissed by the moderator usually after the worship and singing time. Each Sunday, we have someone scheduled as a “Sunday School Manager” who can assist you in locating your child’s classroom and answer any questions you may have.

What ministries do you offer for junior and senior high age?

Junior and Senior High aged young people participate with the adults during our Sunday Worship Celebration. Youth meet (Jr. and Sr. High together) the first Thursday at the Fireplace at 6:30 p.m.

I have some other questions…

We would love to hear from you! After our Worship Celebration, please feel free to speak to any of the elders (photos of the leadership are located on the wall when you enter the church). During the week, feel free to visit one of our cell groups, which are small groups that meet in various homes, and are a great place to really get to know others, as well as grow in your walk with Jesus. There is a list of the our small “cell” groups and a contact person listed on the Small Groups page of this website. If you would like to schedule a time to speak with our Senior Elder/pastor, please feel free to call our office at 717-866-1500.

Groundwork To Growth

All Ages – Thursday Evening

Have you been walking with Jesus for a while and need to examine your foundation? G2G could be a good fit for you!

A mixture of couples and families, this cell is ideal for those currently or formerly in leadership roles in the church who are desiring renewal and re-invigoration for life with Jesus. We are seeking to strengthen those areas that need attention so we are prepared for new growth. (Hosea 10:12) We desire to see wounds healed and wholeness restored. (Psalm 34:17-19) This is accomplished by bi-weekly times of worship, study, prayer and coffee.

R.A.W. (Rise and Walk)

Adults Only – Monday Evening

Many of us have been beaten down, battered and bruised at one time or another in our lives. You are not alone. Whatever your reason, whether its addiction, abuse, depression, disease, or just the general junk in life, R.A.W. is a place where one can find hope and begin to heal.

It’s a safe place to come just as you are, no matter where you may be on your journey. None of us can do it all on our own. We need to be willing to reach out and allow others to help lift us up. Together we will pursue building a closer relationship with our Creator, with each other, and to know the hope that is in Jesus who brings healing, wholeness and purpose to our lives.

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” (John 5:8)

Souls on Fire

All Ages – Saturday Morning

“Souls on Fire” small group was inspired by Third Day’s song, “Soul on Fire.”

Our group was birthed from a desire & passion to win more souls for the Kingdom. We aspire to learn and grow our own faith, with our hearts totally submitted to God and molded by His hands. We welcome any who desire to grow in relationship and expand the Kingdom through discipleship of the unsaved via the Holy Spirit’s leading.

(Psalms 34:1-5)
1. I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
2. My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear & rejoice.
3. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.
4. I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
5. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise. (Proverbs 11:30)

Kingdom Life

All Ages – Wednesday Evening

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  (Mark 11:22-24)

Our vision is to dig into God’s plan for healing and to understand what the Word teaches us about healing: What does the Word show us about when healing happens, how it happens, who it happens to, and how it all begins. We want to see able ministers who are willing to rise up and walk in obedience to pray for the sick and see them recover, knowing that God has given them the tools needed to pray with confidence. We want to develop a sensitivity to God’s voice and direction to pray as He leads. As we learn these things, our heart is to go outside our walls to minister to people who need to know Jesus love’, and receive His healing touch.

Young people to adults are welcome to join us as we discover God’s plan for healing.
